Our first two nights of our Primary Shakespeare Festival have been a great success.
Tonight, we look forward to our final two plays, from this year’s graduating 6th Class. This evening they shall perform Julius Caesar and The Taming of the Shrew. It seems a short time ago that many of these students had their first experience of Shakespeare in Lower 1st, with The Merry Wives of Windsor. Since then they were joined by a wider cast, performing Henry V and A Midsummer Night’s Dream in 3rd Class. In 2021, COVID and the subsequent lockdown didn’t stop them as we moved the productions to Zoom, before returning to Glen Street for their 5th Class plays of Hamlet and As You Like It.
The lessons on the human condition that these students have experienced and empathised with, are sure to serve them well as they manage the ups and downs of their next
